While walking through BBG last night, June 11, returning home from my Pest Management class, I saw my first fireflies of the year. This is right on schedule; I saw my first firefly last year on June 12.

I LOVE fireflies. No fireflies in Hawaii, catching jars full of fireflies was always one of the highlights of visiting the east coast & midwestern relatives.
I still can’t resist catching them but now my firefly-catching is strictly catch-and-release!
