The cherries are blooming at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG), just in time for the start of Hanami this weekend. In addition to those already blooming on Washington Avenue and the parking lot, there are four blooming within the main collection covered by the BBG CherryWatch Blossom Status Map:
- Prunus sargentii ‘Fudansakura’: one in the Japanese Garden, one near the north end of the Cherry Walk
- Prunus subhirtella ‘Autumnalis’, near ‘Fudansakura’ at the north end of the Cherry Walk
- Prunus ‘Okame’, near the south end of the Cherry Walk

Hi! I’d seen a post on the blossoms in DC, but not NYC, thanks for posting them. I’m also stopping by to say hello and that I’m looking forward to meeting you at Spring Fling!
They’re beautiful!
Like Monica, I stopped by to say hello, and I’m looking forward to meeting you in a few weeks in Chicago!
I went last weekend – it was beautiful although still well before peak. I took about a zillion pictures, here are my two favorites!
I’d really gone to see Daffodil Hill. I missed it last year & I couldn't believe it when I realized it was over!
